PROJECT
DE LA SERNA

(SPAIN · MADRID · 2025)

RESIDENTIAL

DETAIL5.jpg

This project was conceived for a client who lives with their 12-year-old son, prioritizing serenity, visual spaciousness, and everyday functionality. The design focused on creating a harmonious atmosphere through warm materials, carefully curated furniture, and custom solutions that make the most of every square meter. The neutral color palette, elegant finishes, and indirect lighting allow the spaces to breathe, creating a sense of balance and calm throughout the home.

This project is made for those who seek order without rigidity, beauty without ostentation, and design that breathes without asking permission.

The kitchen combines the organic character of wood with the sophistication of Calacatta-style porcelain tile, achieving a perfect balance between warmth and elegance. In the work area, under the stairs, a functional desk was designed with a black iron frame and light wood surfaces, integrating shelving with focused lighting to maximize storage without visual clutter. This integration of fine materials and customized solutions reflects a contemporary family lifestyle, adaptable to the various activities of daily life.

The centerpiece of the project is a custom-made, 4-meter-high piece of furniture, designed specifically to highlight the main wall of the apartment. Equipped with indirect lighting, this vertical volume not only frames the space but also visually amplifies the height and adds depth to the room. We complemented the design with sculptural light fixtures, a metal-framed staircase with suspended steps that reinforce the overall sense of lightness. The sofas, coffee tables, armchair, and rug were selected from the Danish firm Bolia, lending a contemporary yet timeless aesthetic to the social area.
